WWL-TV's Eric Paulsen, a longtime friend of Fats Domino who actually drove Fats in his own car to Jazz Fest years earlier,
only to have Fats feel ill and decline to perform, was asked to introduce Davell Crawford for his tribute to Fats, and was happy to do it. Eric tells
the crowd that "Fats sends his love."
Davell Crawford had Fat's piano style down pat, and got help from his guitarist.
Davell's band included many of those who played with Fats Domino through the years, and one conspicuous, very young trumpet player. In New Orleans, we start 'em young.
