The WNOE-AM control room in the
WNOE Building, 529 Bienville Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans in
1975. The news studio was through the glass at the back. The Program
Director's "hotline" to misbehaving disc jockeys was the light-colored phone
atop the console and digital countdown clock just to the left of the copy book. |

All the songs at WNOE-AM were
recorded on tape cartridge, and played back from this six-pack of tape cartridge
machines. The weather instrumentation above, like that at most stations, seldom
worked. |
