The Moody Blues Lose Singer, Songwriter, and Bassist John Lodge

His family has confirmed on October 10 that The Moody Blues vocalist John Lodge has died "suddenly and unexpectedly" at age 82. The bass player and "massive-hearted man" joined the band in 1966 with fellow singer Justin Hayward, following the departure of Denny Laine and Clint Warwick. He played played on songs such as Nights In White Satin, Question and Isn't Life Strange. [10/10/2025]

UNO: Back to the Future or Forward to the Past?

Will the University of New Orleans go back to the future or forward to the past if it changes it's name to LSUNO? At the end of 1972 when JD moved in behind the WIXO microphone in its Downman Road studios in New Orleans East, it was "LSUNO" (Lousisana State University New Orleans). But by 1974, its students had elected to drop the "LS" part of the name. Now, the "LS" may make a comeback. [10/5/2025]

Tulane Gets BYU Quarterback Avoiding Suspension

BYU quarterback Jake Retzlaff, who faced a seven-game suspension for an honor code violation at BYU, verbally committed to transfer to Tulane University in New Orleans. As a walk-on, he'll have to compete for a roster spot. But he'll apparently be able to have all the sex he can get. [7/23/2025]

McCartney Brings Got Back to New Orleans

Paul McCartney has announced he'll bring his Got Back Tour to New Orleans in October of 2025. He's been to New Orleans often, including with the Beatles in 1964. McCartney, who is 83, last performed in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Center on May 23, 2019. That night he spent two hours and 45 minutes showcasing a staggering 38 songs. [7/11/2025]
